Book Review: Misadventures of a City Girl by Meredith Wild & Chelle Bliss

Misadventures of a City Girl is a short and steamy, passionate and heartfelt mismatched romance. I really enjoyed this story of opposites attracting. 

Madison Atwood is fresh off a divorce needing an escape.  She's hounded by paparazzi's and tabloids, She decides to spend four weeks at a Northern California retreat. After she arrives she finds herself out of her element and decides to take a walk, wanting to get away from the crowd. She finds a hot spring to skinny dip.

Luke Dawson prefers to live off the grid. He needs to stay away from people. He built his home, an escape, a haven from the outside world which has been breached by a city girl skinny dipping on his mountain. 

Their brief encounter sends Madison looking for the sexy mountain man and finding much, much more. 

Luke suffers from PTSD from his career in the military. He's chosen a life of solitude to cope with daily life. Madison is lost after her divorce, her hotshot husband's infidelity had taken her by surprise. Luke and Madison came from very different worlds but are immediately drawn together. It's sexy and heartwarming. They want a relationship but can they find their middle ground?

I ate up this story. It's a steamy, feel-good story. Luke is nothing but swoony. 5 Stars!

Phoenix 'Nix' Ash is an internationally wanted criminal. He's a black hat who steals from the rich. Nix plays it safe because he knows one day it could all come crashing down. When Kennedy steps into his life he knows that she's all wrong but he can't fight his attraction.

"It's a dangerous game we're playing, and we both know it. Maybe that's part of the infatuation and need we feel for each other. It's fueled by anger, uncertainty, distrust, but definitely attraction."

The truth can't be hidden forever and when Nix's protege makes the wrong decision his world is turned upside down. Kennedy's truth is revealed and Nix feels betrayed. Can he overcome the treachery of her betrayal or will he cut her out of his life forever?

Dirty Secret blew me away! I loved Nix's raw emotion. He followed his heart, opening up when he had spent all his life hiding from love. Kennedy is a strong kick-ass spy who fights for more than just her job. 5 Stars!!

Review: Unlawful Desire by Chelle Bliss

This is Frisco and Georgia's story. Frisco’s previous relationship has left him jilted. He's no longer interested in relationships however his  friends have other ideas and introduce him to Georgia, a school librarian. Frisco has reservations about Georgia and entering into another relationship. Other forces continue to pull them together and it’s a bumpy ride. 

You can't help who you fall in love with.

The story starts off strong, two jilted lovers finding their soul mate even if Frisco finds several reasons to resist.  Although Frisco's reservations are valid, he takes the wrong approach. Thanks to his friend and fate, Frisco and Georgia a drawn back together. The story falters slightly when male egos takeover or maybe it was due to too much testosterone.  The ending is sweet, leaving a possible opening for more future family drama.

Review: Sinful Intent (ALFA Private Investigations, #1) by Chelle Bliss

It was supposed to be simple. Find the bad guy and save the girl.

Let's start with I LOVE IT! The story is centered around two lost souls, Morgan Deluca and Race True.  They are both need someone to bring them back to life and to help them find their way.

Morgan Deluca has just gotten out of the army and is drifting. He does know that he doesn't want to return to his troubled past. After attending a family wedding, his cousin offered him a job with their private investigation agency. Morgan accepts and is ready to move on with his life and away his overbearing Mother.  I love Mrs. Fran Deluca, she maybe overbearing but she loves her son and her family. She's a strong woman however she isn't the only strong woman.

Race Tru has received a threat and has sought assists from the Alpha Private Investigation. Morgan is assigned to her case and from their first meeting it's lust at first sight. Race has a very strong personality, she needs control, she has a smart mouth and I absolutely love her. I usually dislike bitchy women in books but Race is different. She had to become 'thick skinned' in order to survive her mother and her job. Grace is essentially alone, all she has is her job that doesn't make her happy.

Morgan finds himself in a predicament, he wants more from Race than just a job. Race has been hurt in the past and wasn't looking for a relationship. Morgan has a big job ahead of him, tearing down Race's walls and keeping her safe. The story moves quickly and the characters are well developed. I loved Race's strength throughout the story, she leaves her bitchiness behind and moves forward to find her true happiness. Chelle Bliss, I'm a new fan!
