Book Review: Deceit by Ava Harrison

44421931

I needed to get away.
My ex was getting married.
So, I left.
The English countryside was a picture-perfect escape.
The dashing stranger an even better one.
And what started as a chance encounter quickly became more.
He promised to show me how to live, how to feel alive and forget a past best forgotten.
He made me believe things could be different.
That was until I found out who he was . . .
He was Oliver Blackthorn.
The 16th Earl of Lockhart. Thirty-third in line to the throne.
And a liar.

Deceit had me emotionally invested to the very end. A secret kept take us on a journey of deception  and heartache.

Addison Price escapes to England. She doesn't want to attend her ex's wedding, as they still remain business partners. She decides to survey a piece of land for a future build.

Oliver Blackthorn is summoned back home by his mother. He has responsibilities to claim as the Earl of Lockhart. When he arrives his mother asks Oliver to recover a parcel of land that his father had lost.

Deceit

The land is owned by the Price family. As it turns out the woman who had just met is from the same family, the american who has caught his interest.

Manipulation

Oliver chooses to hide his intention of acquiring the parcel of land from Addison at the same time wooing her over.

Liar

Addison is taken for a loop when she discovers the truth. She builds a wall around her heart and moves on without Oliver. The man who help her "live" instead of just "existing".  The question is can Oliver move on with out Addison.

Deception, intrigue, heartbreak, all accumulating for the final truth. The story is angst ridden. I loved it! 5 Stars
