Book Review: Enthralled by Giana Darling

It was the biggest day of my life. 
I know most people say that about something joyous; a graduation, a wedding ceremony, the birth of their first child. My situation was a little different. 
Sure, it was my eighteenth birthday, but it was also the day that I was sold. 
Sold to a man with hair like a crown of gold and eyes blacker than the darkest pits of Hell.

And through it all, somehow, I also became his salvation.

Enthralled is a dark, dangerous and twisted romance. I am usually a fan of dark romances but this one was not for me. The author’s promise of answers right from the beginning kept me engaged. However, the plots twist and turns were far too convoluted. 

There’s violence throughout the story. It felt redundant and over-the-top at times. The story ends with a cliffhanger and another painful twist. 3 stars

Viper, our eternal playboy, avoider of relationships, can't seem to keep his emotions in check when he's with Halo. Viper had planned on keeping it a casual fling. He doesn't want a repeat of past failed relationships. Halo, our romantic, can't put aside his feelings. He has come into his own and is ready to take the next step. The question is can they find a middle ground?

I loved the last chapter! I swooned when Viper surprised me with his decree. Oh and the cover! It deserves it's own 5 Stars!  I can't wait for the final book. I'm not sure how the authors will be able to top off this sexy trilogy. 5 Stars

Book Review: Flawless by J.D. Hawkins

Flawless is a little different than the author's previous books. There is equal emphasis on the relationship and the work project. Liam is in the process of creating a makeup and skincare-matching app. Zoe is the temporary director of marketing who is in charge of developing a marketing strategy for the app. Their relationship develops along with the development of the app. It's an interesting process. I enjoyed Zoe's no holds barred style. However, at times I felt like the relationship played second fiddle. 4 Stars

Sweet Fate is the second book in the Dirty Sweet Duet. I really enjoyed the first book in this duet, Sweet Liar.  The chemistry between Dylan and Audrey was off the charts. Sweet Fate brings them back together with a little assistance from a friend. In this second book Dylan continues with his self-inflicted ban on commitment. I loved that the story was told in Dylan's POV, however Dylan's continual wallowing in self-pity put a small damper on the story. It lost it's momentum until the ending stirred up all the feels. 4 Stars

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey.



From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
