Book Review: Siren Beloved by Lexi Blake

Siren Beloved (Texas Sirens Book 4) by [Blake, Lexi, Oak, Sophie]

Aidan O’Malley walked away from his fiancĂ©e, Lexi, and their best friend, Lucas, after a night of passion left him shaken to his core. When Aidan returns home from Iraq, he’s haunted by all he has lost. The enemy broke his body, destroying his dreams of a career in music. Worse still, he lost Lexi and Lucas. That damage he’d done all by himself. While he can’t restore what combat took from him, he’s determined to reclaim the two loves of his life.

Lucas Cameron is a changed man. After connecting with his brother, he found the discipline to get his life on track. His legal career is flourishing, but his love life is a train wreck. The woman he loves is spiraling out of control. After Aidan abandoned them, Lucas and Lexi clung together but no matter how hard he tries, Lucas can’t find a way to heal the wounds that Lexi carries.

Lexi Moore feels like a jigsaw puzzle with too many missing pieces. Losing Aidan was hard, but the true reason for her shattered spirit is a secret she only shares with her beloved Lucas. She knows she is drowning and the time has come to heal, but the holes in her heart hold her back from moving on. Shedding the burden she carries is her only hope for a happy future, but she fears she will never have the strength to reveal her secret.

When Aidan walks back into their lives, Lucas and Lexi know everything is about to change. But as they fight to reconcile their past and reclaim what they lost, a vicious predator stalks Lexi. In order to stop the killer, all three must confront the secrets they’ve carried…before they’re buried by them.

Siren Beloved is the fourth book in the Texas Sirens series. It is a Sophie Oak Menage a Trios romance with Lexi Blake suspense. I really enjoyed the first three books in this series. However Siren Beloved had a different feel from the first three in the series, I didn't feel the connection between the main characters. There's more drama in the relationship. It's definitely a different feel from the previous books.

Aidan O'Malley and Lucas Cameron shared one night of passion that sent Aidan running. Aidan wasn't able to accept his sexuality and left his best friend and fiancee behind. Soon after Aidan joined the military after his father continued to criticize his career choices.

Aidan suffers from a career ending injuries while servicing  sending back home to his father's ranch which he inherited. After a long rehabilitation Aidan is ready to go after his true loves, Lexi and Lucas with a little help.

Lexi Moore is struggling with life and is becoming out of control. Lucas is trying his hardest to play her Dom but Lexi continues to spiral downward. They both miss their partner who had made them whole.

The story centers around Aidan's struggle to win back his true loves while his past slowly catches up to him.  The author does a wonderful job developing the suspense. It was the best part of the story. However I didn't feel the connection between Aidan, Lucas and Lexi. Their relationship had more drama and less connection. I think there was a missed connection of what Aidan provides to the relationship besides being a Dom. 3 Stars
