Book Review: Dirty Little Secret by Kendall Ryan

Dirty Little Secret (Forbidden Desires, #1)
The start to a sexy new series from New York Times bestselling author, Kendall Ryan...

She’s much too innocent for me, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting the sweet, young librarian. I’m dominating and possessive, and my control streak runs a mile wide.

The way she looks at me—like I’m one of the heroes in the books she loves, like I’m broken, and she wants to be the one to piece me back together—it only complicates things further. I’m nobody’s hero.

But there’s no denying my tragic past reads like one of her favorite literary classics. It’s raw. Visceral. Captivating. And together, we’re a perfect mess.

How can I resist when the sexual sparks zapping between us set me on fire? The need to control, and claim her force my walls to come tumbling down, but when she learns about my dirty little secret, will my world come crashing down with it?

Dirty Little Secret is book one of two in the Forbidden Desires series. The blurb intrigued me however the story was just okay.  It's a familiar troupe, dark broken multi-millionaire Dom fighting his feelings for a sweet young submissive. Although she doesn't know she's submissive but does suspect it.

Emma Bell is a head librarian. (Bell, made me chuckle) She had been coffee shop stalking a man for months until he finally made his move leaving his business card behind. Emma discovers that her dark brooding fantasy is Gavin Kingsley, president of Forbidden Desires, a legitimate escort agency. A mistaken interview leads her to Gavin and his younger brother, Cooper. Emma becomes torn between two brothers. Well sort of but not really. They are very much opposites, Gavin dark and broody to Coopers easy and happy.

Emma had a bad relationship in the past with a dominating boyfriend. Gavin should be all wrong for her but she feels drawn to him. Although she thinks Cooper is a safer choice she continues to pursue Gavin.

Gavin does not treat Emma well at the beginning. He's more of a jerk than a dark, broody billionaire Dom. He pushes her away but Emma keeps coming back for more. I really wanted Emma to grow some and kick Gavin in the balls. A relationship does develop and Emma easily submits to Gavin. The ending is a crazy cliffhanger with a glimpse into the dirty little secret. The next book will be interesting. 3.5 Stars
