Book Review: Cocky Chef by J.D. Hawkins

Cocky Chef
You can call me arrogant as much as you want. But when you're the best at what you do and have the hottest restaurant on the west coast, with enough Michelin stars to make Gordon Ramsay's head spin, you've earned the right to your confidence.

When I give an instruction in the kitchen, it's not a suggestion--it's an order. So when a new chef thinks she can do things her way, and dares to say so to my face, even her sharp wit and gorgeous pouty lips don't make it okay.

But I have to admit, she's got talent. She's creative in the kitchen and not even that double-breasted chef jacket can hide her perfect body. As I get to know her, I can't help wanting to know everything she thinks. I've never met a more talented chef. And I've never met a sassier and sexier woman in my life.

There's only one way this push and pull can end.

With her in my bed, begging for more.

Cocky Chef is well named! It all begins with a arrogant, confident, overly meticulous and stubborn internationally-know celebrity chef who does not accept deviation. Until he meets his match, a sassy, confident, beautiful line cook who puts him in his place. It makes for one hot kitchen!

Cole Chambers is set in his ways. He has it all figured out since his restaurant Knife is beyond successful. Well that's until he meets Willow his new line cook. Their chemistry is instant and their attraction pulls them together. It pulls them right on top of the boss's desk.

Willow struggles with taking their relationship further. Cole is her boss and that should be the end of it. Their attraction and Cole's honesty only draws her in further.

"I remember Asha's advice to 'follow your heart', but which way do you go when your heart is split in two?"

Willow is taken by surprise when her ultimate career goal is neatly gift wrapped and presented to her. The only issue is her career goal is in conflict with her budding relationship with Cole. Which way does she turn?
Cocky Chef is very well written.  The characters are well developed and will melt your heart. There's no superficial pleasures here. It's a steamy kitchen romance that will leave you salivating at all it's deliciousness in the end. 5 Stars
