Book Review: All the Frogs in Manhattan by Carrie Aarons

All the Frogs in Manhattan
You know how Cinderella had the whole glass slipper, pumpkin carriage, fairy godmother thing?

Yeah…with foot-destroying stilettos, Uber, and a Twitter horoscope, my life is far from a happily ever after.

In fact, instead of Prince Charming, I end up dating every slimy, scaly, brainless frog in the kingdom of Manhattan. And by frog, I mean all of the stereotypical bad guys that Mom and Lifetime movies warned you about.

The meathead player.
The mommy's boy.
The namedropper.
The cheapskate.

If they suck at relationships, I’ve probably kissed those cold, clammy lips in the hopes of finding love. Until one day, when one man with commitment issues offers to help me find the Romeo to my Juliet.

But what happens when the frog, who was never supposed to turn into a prince, kisses you at midnight? Ok fine, he propositioned me for some afternoon delight after brunch, but not everything can be straight out of a fairytale.

I truly enjoyed this cheeky, Manhanttanite second chance romance. The bantering is fluid and the relationship well developed. You never know when and where you're going to find true love.

Gemma Morgan is a twenty-five yrs old single woman living in Manhattan. She's on the prowl for her princess charming. Gemma has a great job as a fashion editor and good friends. All she's lacking is a good man.

Oliver Anders is thirty and one of the youngest millionaires in the New York tech space. He has no time for dating and enjoys casual sex with no strings involved.

After Oliver comes to Gemma's rescue after she runs from another 'date gone wrong' they discover they have great sexual chemistry. They agree to be friends with benefits.

Gemma initially doesn't consider Oliver her soulmate. He's a charming and friendly introvert with no boyfriend potential. Oliver is just as happy with the booty calls since he's busy developing his next big project.

While Oliver is running from his feeling he has for Gemma, he accidentally leads her into the arms of another man. Gemma has to decide to stick with safety and security or give Oliver another try.

I loved Gemma. She is quick witted, honest and a little crazy. She's ready to find her happily-ever-after and doesn't stop even after going on dates with a few frogs, more like toads. I enjoyed how Gemma and Oliver's relationship evolved. It's so true, sometimes you don't realize what you have until it's gone. The story is a fun, sexy romance with a Sex in the City vibe. 5 Stars!
