Book Review: Bound to Surrender by Jenna Jacob

Bound to Surrender (The Doms of Genesis, #6.5)
After suffering a brutal hate crime, submissive Trevor Hammond’s outward appearance projects the usual carefree demeanor his friends know and love. But inside, the remnants of his battered psyche and the ghosts of his assailants keep him bound in chains of anxiety.

While his Master, Moses Abrams, aka Daddy Drake, is aware of the devastation consuming his precious sub, he finds himself powerless to neutralize his lover’s demons. Embarking on an unconventional journey, Drake is determined to find a way to heal and bring back the man who owns his heart..

Will his love be enough to draw Trevor back from the darkness?

I love, love this series. Jenna Jacob has outdone herself with Bound to Surrender. It's an emotional story filled with turmoil, angst, eternal love and loyalty. I think I went through the emotional stages of grief and recovery along with the characters.

Drake and Trevor are the heart and soul of The Doms of Genesis. It was heartbreaking when Trevor was viciously attacked solely based on his sexual preference. He's in a dark place and unable to move forward. His struggles are painfully agonizing. Not only is Trevor suffering but he's concerned that he is causing Drake and his friends undue stress and concern.

Drake blames himself for not being there to save Trevor. He treats Trevor with kitten gloves. He doesn't want to cause him any more stress because Trevor is already suffering enough.

Drake and Trevor's lack of communication only drives them farther apart. Can they find their way back to each other? Can they put aside their pain and move forward?  Drake has an idea to bring back the light in Trevor's eyes and it's Mika and Julianna who extend the offer to make it possible. Yep, I cried some more. You can read this as a stand alone, if you are not familiar with the series. 5 ++ Stars!
