Broadhollow Series Spotlight by Jennifer Snow

Brookhollow Series Spotlight

The Trouble With Mistletoe Blurb:

You can't say no to a mistletoe kiss, no matter who's under it!
Since leaving Brookhollow and her fiancé, Luke Dawson, twelve years earlier, Victoria Mason hasn't looked back. She's traded the small-town dream of marriage, kids and family Christmas dinners for late nights working at a high-powered acquisitions firm, lunches at trendy New York restaurants and jet-set vacations on the slopes.
So her latest work assignment, to acquire Brookhollow's sporting-goods store, poses a challenge for Victoria, in more ways than one. Because it's almost Christmas, and she's got other holiday plans. And the owner is reluctant to sell. And the owner is Luke. She needs to wrap up the deal before she gets caught up in her old life and her old love…or becomes trapped under the mistletoe. Again.

What A Girl Wants Blurb:

Friendship is overrated, if you ask her
She's always just been one of the guys…until she falls in love with one of the guys. Except Bailey Sheppard has carried a torch for firefighter Ethan Bishop since high school. And now that his long-term girlfriend has left him brokenhearted, she's free to go after what she's always wanted.
Not that Ethan sees Bailey as anything but a friend. A best friend maybe, but still not a woman he'd be interested in. Pining for his ex has made him blind to the possibility of happiness with anyone else…. But can Ethan resist a woman who knows what she wants?

Falling for Leigh Blurb:
Can she be his cure for writer's block?
For New York novelist Logan Walters, falling for the girl next door was more than a clichĂ©. It was a calamity! If Leigh Norris hadn't been so attractive, and hadn't been hammering relentlessly while he was trying to write, Logan would never have ascended her rickety ladder in a misguided mix of gallantry and frustration. And he wouldn't have a broken wrist—or a guilty new assistant who can't type. Clearly, his escape to the Brookhollow B and B was not going to be the quiet, idyllic retreat he needed to finish his overdue manuscript. But it was fast becoming much more interesting than expected….

The Mistletoe Melody Blurb:

'Tis the season of forgiveness…but can she ever forget?
Brad Monroe was truly unbelievable. Blowing back into Brookhollow for three days to film a Christmas special—three years after the accident that killed his best friend…her husband—and expecting Melody to be civil? Please. He'd been the only one who'd survived the tragedy, hightailing it to Nashville and hijacking her dream…Patrick's dream. She'd spent that time grieving, working three jobs, struggling to raise her boys and keep a roof over their heads. Now she was losing ground on all fronts, and not about to forgive and forget. Or give him the one thing that could save them all…

The Mistletoe Melody

Review

Melody Myers is a single mom of twin eight year old boys, Josh and David. It's been three years since her husband, Patrick, passed away in a car accident. Melody has been working three jobs to pay the bills however she's falling behind.  Melody has finished up a three-month management-trainee program for 'Play Hard'. She has to pass the final test in order to promote and quit two of her jobs so she can spend more time with her sons. Along time ago she bigger dreams of a career in country music, which have faded away.

Brad Monroe, aka Brad Jackson, had left Brookhollow right after the car accident that took away his friend Patrick's life. He went on to be a famous county music singers who was chasing after an elusive #1 hit.  Brad's publicist had booked him a spot on 'Home for the Holidays', which meant he would return home after a three year absence and have to face his past.

Melody had a very bad day, she received a foreclosure letter and she had to leave her management test before she finished because her son was suspended.  To make matters worse that same evening Brad appears at her job, the man who was driving the car that ended her husband's life.

Brad tries his best to befriend Melody. Melody is unwilling to budge. She's sure that Brad was in town to only advance his career.

"This show, all of this local promotion crap, all you care about is yourself and your career. I bet you're not even planning to spend the holidays with your family. I bet you've never once considered helping out the tree farm, giving Troy a break during the busiest month of the year, instead of just showing up and making more work for them."

Brad decides to stay because it's the right thing to do and soon discovers Melody has been hiding her financial struggles. He wants to help Melody because he feels responsible for her situation and also because he's falling in love with her. Brad offers to take her to Nashville and she can stay with him so she can pursue her dreams. Melody declines because she boys come first and their history. She doesn't want to dishonor her late husband.

Melody is able to pay her overdue mortgage by selling her beloved microphone that was a gift from her late husband. The money also afforded her to buy her sons Christmas presents, which made up for any remorse. Before Brad left to Nashville, he dropped off gifts for Melody and her sons. After Melody opens her gift and finds a expensive, matching pair of gloves, she takes her first step at forgiving Brad.

This is a heart-warming story about two individuals who both lost the person they loved. Melody struggles to move forward leaving her and Brad's history behind. The past has been keeping her from true happiness, a music career and Brad. Brad needs the courage to return to the town he ran from. He suffers from survivors guilt however he continues to move on with his life. When Brad and Melody come together it evokes all types of emotions; anger, fear, resentment, and finally love. I really, really enjoyed this uplifting story. I cried, laughed and smiled. Jennifer Snow has done a wonderful job bringing us hope that no matter how difficult or challenging the past maybe, life can move forward it you give it a chance.  ***** 5 Leaving The Past Behind Stars *****
