****Review**** The Billionaire Bargain #2 by Lila Monroe

The Billionaire Bargain #2

It was a deal made in the boardroom and sealed in the bedroom.

It all seems so simple: pretend to be his fianceĆ©, his company share prices stabilize, and everyone wins. It’s all just for show.

So why does he keep kissing me? And why do I let him? Grant Devlin is the bane of my existence — not the man of my dreams. But now the lines are getting blurred, and between the kissing and the champagne (and did I mention the kissing?) I’m getting way too comfortable as the future Mrs Devlin.

Something’s got to give, and it better not be my self-control…

Review

The story picks-up right where it left off, Grant Devlin has proposed to Lacey and she had accepted. Lacey is overwhelmed by well wishers and unfortunately has to deal with Grant's godmother Portia. Portia is Lacey's arch nemesis.  She disapproves of Lacey because she's not from an upper class family.

Lacey doesn't even comprehend how she ended up engaged. In Grant style, he explains it's her idea. In Lacey fashion she response "In what crazy alternate universe was this my idea? Did you just beam in from the alternate universe where up is down ad Spock has a goatee and I have absolutely terrible ideas?"

The next day Lacey meets with Portia to discuss the wedding plans. Lacey tells Portia the truth about the arrangement. Portia acts as she had already know. "Given your entire lack of looks, skills, or suitable connections it as completely obvious that your nuptials were the final ingredient in some harebrained business deal cooked up by Grant in a last-ditch attempt to save the company from his own irresponsibility." Luckily, Grant shows up and whisks Lacey away to only reveal that he has had her belonging packed and moved to his place. Lacey is not happy with the move so she takes it out on the credit card she received from Grant.

On the way to their engagement party, Grant opens up about fears. He had offers to buy his families company. He choose not to sell because they had planned to break up the company and people would have lost their jobs. "Something in me knew that no matter how afraid I was, I couldn't let myself walk away."

After they escape their engagement party the run off and enjoy themselves. Although Lacey has to constantly remind herself that this is a business arrangement, she does admit to herself that she's falling for Grant. After hiding away from the world, news of a you tube video comes crashing in. Grant owns up to his mistake, but it's Portia who feels that quicker action is needed.  The ending is a nail biting cliff hanger.

Lacey is discovering the real Grant. She's falling for him and it seems he has fallen for her. Although Portia seems to be the wicked witch of the west, I wonder if she has other motives. Lacey truly wants the best for Grant and believes in him. It's up to Grant to believe in himself. The cliff hanger hurt! I can't wait for the next book.
