Book Review: Shielding Lily by Alexa Riley

Shielding Lily
It’s Lily Parker’s first day at a new high school. She’s a senior finishing her last semester, and all she wants to do is graduate and get out of town. Her home life is a secret hell, and she’s trying to find a way out. But everything changes when Ren says hello and sees right through to her truth.

Ren Hendrick’s succeed's at everything he touches, including football. But he’s never been passionate about anything. He’s quiet and keeps to himself, which pisses people off. But he can’t find the desire to care. He’s lived a life without color, until Lily walks in and lights up his world.

Their story is one of sweet young love and finding your forever before you can even dream of what that is. It’s one of protecting what belongs to you and having the courage to follow your heart, no matter your age.

Another Insta-Love classic by Alexa Riley. This one has an edge that is different from the rest. The heroine is a fighter. She holds a mountain of regret on her shoulders and her father only adds to the pile but she doesn’t give up. I really, really enjoyed the epilogues! Yes, there are more than one and they are beautiful and loving.
Lily is starting a new high school for the umpteenth time. Her plans are to hide in the background. She wants to graduate and move out of her home. Since her mother passed away, her life has been upside down.
“My gentle giant. So fierce and hard for everyone else, but a marshmallow when it comes to me.”
Lily’s plans quickly change when she meets Ren. Ren is insistently captivated and quickly comes to a decision that he’s keeping Lily forever.  Lily has a secret she’s keeping from Ren. You don’t want to miss what happens when Ren discovers what Lily has been hiding.
Shielding Lily is a quick, emotional read.  I love the HEA. It felt good.  5 Stars!
