Review: The Master (The Game Maker, #2) by Kresley Cole

The Master (The Game Maker, #2)
A need colder than Siberian winter meets an attitude hotter than the Florida sun in #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole’s sultry new Game Maker novel.

Everyone fears the Master...

Rich, irresistible politician/Mafya boss Maksimilian Sevastyan prefers tall, obedient blondes to fulfill his... complicated desires. That is, until the icy Russian encounters a disobedient brunette whose exquisite little body threatens his legendary restraint.

Except her.

Catarina Marín was a well-off young wife until her world fell apart. Now she’s hiding out, forced to start working as an escort in Miami. Her very first client is beyond gorgeous, but when he tells her what he plans to do to her, Cat almost walks out of the door.

If pleasure is a game, play to win.

After their mind-blowing encounter burns out of control, the lovers crave more. If they escape the deadly threats surrounding them, can Maksim overcome his past—to offer Cat his future? Only then will she tempt him with what he really wants: her, all tied up with a bow.

The Master is from Russia with love. I couldn't believe how quickly I read this story. It's fast paced, filled with angst and uncertainty. I loved every minute! Kresley Cole is new to me author and after reading The Master she has a new stalker. I can't wait to read her other books in this series.

"The hobbyist and his courtesan."

Maksimilian 'Maxim' Sevastyan is a Russian sexy god. He's a politician, billionaire and Mafya crime boss with a sordid history. Maxim is a hobbyist with strict rules for his escorts. He prefers obedient blondes but discovers a feisty brunette that rattles his cage.

Catarina 'Cat' Marín is on the run and has created rules to keep herself safe. It's time for her to move again but she could use extra money for her relocation. She given the opportunity to escort. What she didn't expect was to meet a DDG. Drop. Dead. Gorgeous. Ruso. He may want to do things his way but Cat has other ideas.

Cat is a spicy, bold heroine. Although she is on the run, she continues to pursue her education. She wants to atone and keep her promise. Cat's spunk rattles Maxim and soon melts his cold heart. She brings him light, pulling him out of his darkness. However she's conflicted with his intentions and she struggles with trusting another human being. Maxim is no better, he struggles with trust and jealousy. These two made for each other. When things are good, they are steamy and when things are bad, it's a smack in the face. Don't worry, there is a HEA, Mafya style. 5 Stars!
