Review: Dirty by Kylie Scott

Dirty (Dive Bar, #1)
The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

Wow, just Wow! Dirty is filled with conflict, conflict and more conflict. I love it! The story revolves around two characters who are in transition. The transition is anything but smooth. Their lives are in flux.

Lydia Green is crazy! She's a run away bride who scales tall fences in a single bound, wiggles and twists through small windows grunting in exertion in order to seek solace in a strangers bath tub. What a mess! She had received a video detailing her fiances love interest which included plenty of moans and groans. As it turns out her fiance plays for the other team and failed to mention his preferences. Yup, crazy is the nicest way to explain it.

Vaughan is back to sort out his life. His band had broken up and he needs to regroup. What he hadn't expected was to find a wet bride hiding out in his bathroom. It only gets better from here!

There is conflicting brewing during the entire story. There are plenty of punches and also a flying chair. The story kept me turning the pages. Lydia is an awesome characters. She longs for what her parents failed to provide her, a family, stability and a sense of belonging. She discovers what she's longing for with the Dive Bar family. Even though they are some kind of crazy.  Lydia also finds Vaughan crawling deep inside of her. She knows that it will end but isn't able to keep him at a friends distance.

Vaughan from the beginning made it clear he was leaving to return to his musical pursuit. His dream is to be a musician, end of story. He got an opportunity to form a new band and is ready to go back to L.A. Is it possible to alter a dream after years of pursuit? Can love triumph? Holy hell! I couldn't read the ending fast enough. I even found myself yelling at the book because he left!! I'm going to stop here. I don't want to give anything away. The ending leaves a massive opening for future books. I can't wait for more in this series. Kylie Scott does not fail in entertaining us. Her stories feel good. Dirty had me running a mental marathon, sprinting to the end for the HEA. 5 Stars!!
