Although they hate each other’s politics, they cannot deny their immediate and growing attraction to each other. What will give? Their principles or themselves?
A book about our ideologies and our humanity, politics and sex, prejudices and beliefs.
Conflicting ideologies make for strange bed fellows.
Can a staunch republican and an idealistic democrat find love? Or is political disaster in the making?
Marie Diaz-Austin accepts and internship on a ranch that will test her liberal resolve. It all begins with a shower encounter. One quick wet run in with Will Thrash, ranch owner, and a superficial, judgmental comment leads to a political relationship wrench.
Marie is a devout liberal and can't move past her beliefs. Will is staunch in his beliefs but doesn't let it get in the way of his heart. Will grew on me quickly. Even though his Alpha responses are quick and bullish, he's willing to bend even if he doesn't agree. In trying to compromise with Marie he even takes one for the conservative team, all he was miss was a pair of Birkenstocks. Marie struggles opening up her heart, her past continues to influence her present. I found myself easily relating to Marie. She's so focused on her causes that she's blinded by political affiliations. Will doesn't split hairs, he wants Marie and lets her know. Can Marie move past her grudges and find true love?
I really enjoyed this story, I couldn't get enough of Marie and Will. I loved that they had strong beliefs and didn't change what they believed but they adjusted to each other. Compromise is what makes a relationship work and Leslie McAdam's taught us how to make it work. On a side note, Will is absolutely lust worthy. His Alpha hit the mark and the cowboy persona shot him off he charts.
