Review: Porn Star by Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone

Porn Star
You know me.

Come on, you know you do.

Maybe you pretend you don’t. Maybe you clear your browser history religiously. Maybe you pretend to be aghast whenever someone even mentions the word porn in your presence.

But the truth is that you do know me.

Everybody knows Logan O’Toole, world famous porn star.

Except then Devi Dare pops into my world, and pretty soon I’m doing things that aren’t like me—like texting her with flirty banter and creating an entire web porn series just so I can get to star in her bed. Again. And again.

With Devi, my entire universe shifts, and the more time I spend with her, the more I realize that Logan O’Toole isn’t the guy I thought he was.

So maybe I'm not the guy you thought I was either.

I was very excited when I read the blurb and I swooned over the cover.  I enjoyed the plot about two porn stars on a self discovery of their wants and needs. What did not work for me was the characters continual ramblings. I don't skim pages when I read for enjoyment but the soliloquies had me breezing through their internal struggles that seemed to go on forever.

Devi Dare is a porn actress who has only done woman/woman porn with the exception of her one chance porn encounter with Logan O'Toole. It was a movie she never forgot.

Logan O'Toole is a porn king. Although he is on top of the porn world, his personal life had been torn apart by his ex-girlfriend who is also a porn actress.  His outlook on life changed when he ran into Devi Dare, the woman he has been fantasizing about.

Devi is a free spirit created by her upbringing. Her parents are loving supportive hippies with interesting hobbies. She finds her way into porn to make money. She tried college but couldn't decide on a major and now she's spending time soul searching her future while doing porn to pay the bills. Logan O'Toole has a proposition for Devi to star in a reality show with him. The reality soon becomes very real, a relationship develops but can it withstand their continual careers in porn?

The story does make you think.  They say men can have sex without emotions but would that be enough to let your significant other do porn? Would you be able handle the jealousy? Devi and Logan face this dilemma head on. There are very steamy scenes, interesting personalities, and a HEA. I would have enjoyed the story the same or possibly more if it had been shorter. 3.5 'Star-crossed' Stars.
