Review: Some Sort of Love (Happy Crazy Love, #3) by Melanie Harlow

Some Sort of Love (Happy Crazy Love, #3)
From the outside looking in, I had it all—a career I loved, a supportive family, the Nixon metabolism but not the Nixon ears, and a salary that supported my lavish taste in designer shoes, fine wine, and lacy lingerie … but I had no one to share it with.

Until the day I ran into him—my one night stand from college with the crooked smile, let’s-get-out-of-here eyes, and dirty, dirty mouth.

Cute and cocky then, today Levi Brooks is six feet four inches of hot bearded fantasy. A sexy single dad with broad shoulders, strong hands, and a fantastically big … heart. (I mean, it’s massive. And generous. And it pumps so hard … um. Sorry. Lost my place.)

Being a good father means everything to him, but he's keeping me at a distance because he thinks I deserve someone better — a man who can give me more time, more attention, more of himself. He doesn’t believe he could ever be enough.

But he's wrong.

He’s everything.

This story is some sort of beautiful! Melanie Harlow doesn't fail in giving us another beautiful story from the heart. My heart broken open wide for Levi Brooks, for the man, the father and the scared soul.

Levi has committed his life to caring and nurturing his son, who is also autistic. He does it all on his own, pushing away his family's offers to help him. He wants the best for his son, he already feels like he has let him down from the beginning. Levi's story is heart wrenching.

Jillian is a thirty years old pediatrician, who's family continually nags her about meeting a man. She's busy with her career and hasn't met the right man, until she runs right into the chest of her college fling, Levi Brooks. They have an instant connection, their attraction hasn't faded.

Levi doesn't feel that he's enough for his son, so how can he let anyone else in. What he never expected is that he finds his respite, his sanctuary with Jillian. She's his escape. Levi wants to keep his two worlds separate but soon it's not enough for Jillian. Jillian wants to meet his son and be apart of his entire life, not just his 'Girl Friday'.

Jillian is torn, not because Levi puts his son first, but because he won't let her into his family. She doesn't question Levi's parenting, she's supportive and caring. The author does a fantastic job bringing us a nontraditional love story. It's a family love story. Jillian has fallen in love with not only the man but the father. It's beautiful and heart warming. Every family maybe different but love is what seals families together. 5 stars!
