Review: The Debt by Charlotte Byrd

The Debt
When Brielle Thompson, a 25-year-old waitress, receives a mysterious check for $250,000, she uses the money to pay for her mother’s very expensive cancer treatment, saving her life.

Two years later, she is called to pay back her debt. All she has to do is travel to an isolated mansion and work for one year as a personal assistant to an arrogant asshole whom she hates.

Wyatt Wild is a gorgeous alpha billionaire playboy who is not used to girls saying no to him. He has bedded models, actresses and socialites and then a waitress from some crappy roadside cafe dares reject him. Who does she think she is?

Wyatt always gets what he wants and his desires focus on the innocent and stubborn Brielle . Neither give in easily and they quickly get locked in a game of seduction.

Hot, steamy and romantic!

The Debt is a romantic story of a boy who doesn't know what real love is until he meets a girl who sends him away. Wyatt Wild is playboy, he comes from a rich family and was raised by his nanny. He doesn't really know what love feels like until he meets Brielle. Their chance encounter leaves Wyatt feeling and reeling from her rejection. Brielle Thompson has been taking care of her mom for years. Her mother will die without an experimental drug treatment. In a fortunate turn of events Brielle receives a check that will pay for her mother's treatments and save her life. What Brielle hadn't expected was a letter in the mail two years later requesting her presents to repay her debt.

I really enjoyed the story. Brielle is a strong heroine. She rejects Wyatt when they first meet because of her priorities. She works hard trying to support her mother, while putting her future aside. Brielle also has integrity. She does not have to repay the debt however she feels compelled to do what's right.  When Brielle discovers it was Wyatt who sent her the money she's shocked and immediately sets boundaries. Brielle struggles to overcome her insecurities and learns acceptance. Wyatt learns the difference between infatuation and love. He will follow the rules and fight to keep Brielle but will Brielle's secrets become too much for their relationship to endure? 4 Repaid Stars!
