Levi “Painter” Brooks was nothing before he joined the Reapers motorcycle club. The day he patched in, they became his brothers and his life. All they asked in return was a strong arm and unconditional loyalty—a loyalty that’s tested when he’s caught and sentenced to prison for a crime committed on their behalf.
Melanie Tucker may have had a rough start, but along the way she’s learned to fight for her future. She’s escaped from hell and started a new life, yet every night she dreams of a biker whose touch she can’t forget. It all started out so innocently—just a series of letters to a lonely man in prison. Friendly. Harmless. Safe.
Now Painter Brooks is coming home… and Melanie’s about to learn that there’s no room for innocence in the Reapers MC.
Wow! Levi "Painter" Brooks is a complicated man and Melanie Tucker finds herself in the middle of his complications. Reaper's fall is a gripping rider from the beginning to the end.
"I never said I wasn't interested," he replied, his voice quiet with a hint of strain."I said you deserve better."
Painter was known for his playboy ways. He got bored easily and moved on to the next woman quickly. He didn't want to lose Melanie as a friend and tried to keep their relationship in the friend zone. Painter's attempt at friendship doesn't last long and they find themselves in a hot and heavy relationship. Melanie struggles with Painter priorities, club first even before himself. It's landed him in jail more than once.
"I can't afford to put any more time and energy into a man who will always put his motorcycle club first. I deserve someone who puts me first."
Melanie is conflicted with Painter's decision to choose the club over her. She takes a stand when Painter makes a decision that deeply affects her and their relationship. He failed her and their relationship is over.
Painter's poor decisions leave him struggling to win back Melanie. Melanie is relentless and can't move past Painter's mistake. She's one tough cookie. It's understandable why she has reservations about taking back Painter. The story also continues the Reaper's territorial saga leading to a dangerous confrontation at the end.
Reaper's Fall drew me in. I enjoyed the humor, the angst and Melanie's relentlessness. In previous
books we were introduced to Painter and he was a real a-hole. He does redeem himself at the end of his story. It was a close call. I wasn't sure if he had any redeemable qualities but to his credit he
doesn't give up his fight to win back Melanie. Or better said, take back Melanie. Oh yeah, Painter is alpha to the core!
