Review- Denial (Careless Whispers, #1) by Lisa Renee Jones

Denial (Careless Whispers, #1)

Ella Ferguson awakes alone in Italy, unsure of who she is, and a gorgeous man has claimed her as his own. He’s tall, dark, and sexy, with money and power, the kind of man who makes a girl want to be possessed. And he does possess her, whispering wicked wonderful promises to her, stealing her trust and her heart. Soon though, the past finds her, yanking her from a cocoon of passion and safety. Everything is not how it seems. The truth will shatter her world, but it can set her free, if it doesn't destroy her first.

"I'm no angel, just like I'm no hero." "And yet you're trying to save me." "No trying' about it. I am going t save you."

Denial is the first installment of the Careless Whispers series.  The story is entrancing, it's Ella's story confined behind castle walls while having recollections of her past in order to discover her true identity.

Ella awakens staring into the eyes of a handsome man, Kayden Wilkens. However she has amnesia, she doesn't know where she is, she doesn't know what happened to her and she can't even remember her own name. Kayden had found Ella in an alley and came to her rescue. He now has taken the responsibility of her  protector.

Kayden rides a fine line of obeying the law. He is the leader of The Underground, who are treasure hunters. Kayden past has driven him into his career and he has no intentions of ever leaving.

"Memories are the enemies that never die."

Ella slowly begins to put together the pieces of her past. She makes connections and discover her past holds more secrets then she expected.

I love this first installment, it's filled with mystery, suspense, intrigue, speculation and heat! I was entranced by how Ella begins to piece together her past and has made unexpected connections. She's captivated me, drew me in and kept me wanting more. I couldn't get enough of Ella and Kayden. I can't wait for the next book in the series, Demand.
