Review: King (King #1) by T.M. Frazier

King (King, #1)

Homeless. Hungry. Desperate.

Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from.

A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, pu$$y or a combination of all three.

King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that sometimes in order to hold on, you have to first let go.

Warning: This book contains graphic violence, consensual and nonconsensual sex, drug use, abuse, and other taboo subjects and adult subject matter. Although originally slated to be a standalone, KING is now a two part series.

What would you do if you couldn't remember who you are and discover that nobody is looking for you? How would you survive?

Doe doesn't remember her past, her age, her real name and has no where to go. While living on the streets she befriends a hooker who wants to help her. All Doe wants is to eat and put a roof over her head. Her friend has a solution for finding a warm bed. Unfortunately, the roof she lands under belongs to a dark and dangerous, drug dealing, ex-con.

King has been released from prison and his best friend, Preppy throws him a bad-ass party. Craziness ensues and he finds himself claiming Doe.

Doe has a moral dilemma, she struggles protecting the person she once was, ' her'.  Doe doesn't want to do anything that could negatively effect who she used to be. She fears herself. Doe's decisions not only affects who she is now but also who she will be once her memory returns. She has difficult decision ahead, not wanting to do anything that could hurt who she really is but wanting to move forward with your current situation. Doe's struggle is very real, it's easy to understand her decisions. It makes the story a real page turner.

King is hiding several secrets, he is also struggling with a moral dilemma. King wants a HEA, but he knows that it's not in the cards The story takes on many twists and turns. Relationships develop, heart break occurs and it ends in a cliffhanger. Get ready for some heartbreak. I can't wait for 'Tyrant'!
