*****5 Stars***** Searching for Beautiful (Searching For, #3) by Jennifer Probst

Searching for Beautiful (Searching For, #3)

Genevieve MacKenzie has her life completely under control. About to wed the charming Chief doctor at the local hospital, she’s an up-and-coming surgeon with everything she could ever want. Until an escape through the church window on the day of her wedding sends her life into a tailspin...and flings her right into her best friend’s arms.

When Wolfe catches his best friend falling out a window on her wedding day, he doesn’t ask questions. He whisks her away, determined to watch over her and discover the truth behind her desperate escape. But when his feelings turn more than platonic, he realizes he may risk his most important relationship in order to protect his damaged heart, and the woman he loves.

Can Genevieve and Wolfe’s friendship turn into something deeper—or is it already too late for true love?

Searching For Beautiful is that third novel in Jennifer Probst's Searching for series and the first book I've read in the series.  You will not be disappointed. I recommend a box of tissues for the last ten percent of the story, I wept. The story begins with Genevieve (Gen) MacKenzie escaping from her wedding through a window. Her inner voice told her to run! Lucky for Gen, Wolfe was outside finishing a smoke and whisked her away to safety.

Gen was too marry David but "She ran away and left him at the altar. The man she claimed to love. Her boss and chief of the surgical unit where her entire career was carved out." Gen is intelligent, strong-willed and a people-pleaser.

Gen wanted to always do the right thing, for her family, her friends and her fiancee. Gen gave up her world, she gave up herself to please David. David maybe accomplished in his career but in his personal life he's a manipulating prick. Once Gen follows her gut instincts, she admits the truth to herself and is able to move on from the abusive relationship with help from Wolfe.

Gen and Wolfe had been close friends until David. David was jealous of Wolfe and Gen slowly severed the friendship in order to please David. Wolfe helps Gen deal with her feelings and come to terms with her insecurities. He's her rock. Wolfe and Gen's feelings for each other surface however neither of them want to lose their friendship. If they take it to the next level it will end badly. They've seen enough movies.

Wolfe had taken Gen away from the wedding chaos and when she returned to her life she discovers the damage David caused. Wolfe is there to protect her and their relationship continues to develop into more. I enjoyed their continual banter, their teasing and their humor.

Wolfe is damaged, throughout the story we discover his demons, his secrets and his pain. He continually pushes Gen away because he's not worthy. Gen pushes him, she wants all or none. Is it possible for Wolfe to give Gen what she wants? Can he move past his demons? It's a struggle to the end but 100% worth the read.

Wolfe and Gen's story is a beautiful struggle to find one's self. Gen had lost herself while trying to please others. Wolfe lost himself in his past. They found strength within each other. It's a truly beautiful story of courage and self discovery. Jennifer Probst is a wonderful writer, she writes with depth and emotion. I can't wait to read Search for Always, Stone and Arilyn's story.
