****Review**** Owned (Decadence after Dark, #1) by M. Never

Owned (Decadence after Dark, #1)

"I like you collared, baby. I like you naked, I like you mine.”

Ellie Stevens has lusted over Kayne Roberts since he first walked into the import/export company she works for a little over a year ago. As Expo’s most important client, Ellie has always kept a safe distance from the man with the majestic blue eyes - until temptation finally gets the better of her. Impulsively, Ellie invites Kayne to one of Expo's infamous company parties her flamboyant boss is notorious for throwing. Unbeknownst to Ellie, the god in the Armani suit isn’t just the suave entrepreneur he portrays himself to be. Underneath the professional exterior is a man with a secret life, dark desires, and nefarious contacts.

In a hidden corner of a trendy New York City lounge, the spark kindling between the two of them ignites. Unable to resist the sinful attraction, Ellie agrees to leave with Kayne, believing she is finally bedding the man of her dreams. Little does she know when she walks out the door, she’s about to be Owned.

Owned is a dark erotic romance. Please pay close attention to the use of the words dark, erotic, and romance. It has intense sexual situations, a Master/slave relationship, mild abuse, and some violence. Reader discretion is advised.

I'm a huge fan of dark erotic romances. Owned is definitely dark and dangerous. It's a tale a woman, Ellie, who was attracted to the wrong person, who ensnared her in a web of secrets and danger. Ellie Stevens has lusted over Kayne Roberts for years. She decides to invite him to a work related party. Unfortunately, at the party Kayne is surprised by an unexpected business associate. When his business associate sets his sights on Ellie, Kayne makes a quick decision to make Ellie his own.

This story revolved and evolves around a M/s relationship. Kayne finds Ellie challenging, "But with Ellie, it's more than just dominance. The challenge of her will and fundamental breakdown of her mental faculty is addicting." He knows it's wrong to want to break her, make her his slave however he craves her submission. Ellie begins to concede over time, "My body needs more. It's becoming dependent, like a junkie hooked on drugs, jonesing for the unparalleled pleasure only Kayne can distribute. It's my escape, my avoidance, my diversion to the reality at hand." It's also a mind game Kayne plays, he has trapped in his web of lies, deception and selfishness.

Kayne protects Ellie from the evil that lurks around the every corner. He hides the truth to protect Ellie. Their relationship evolves however is it enough to withstand the truth?

Kayne and Ellie are very well developed. I did find some of the scenes a little over the top. Ellie fought at the beginning but it didn't take her too long to fully submit. Jett is an interesting character, he's a friend, protector and a voice of reason. The story ends with a question mark? Is it over or is there a HEA in the future?
