"Kingpin (An Italian Mafia Romance) is my 7th book, but I feel like it's my debut all over again.
So, I'm just about 3 years into being an author, and I was starting to feel like I'd gotten away from what I love writing most. I softened my tone in an attempt to fit it, and I softened my characters as a result. Then, something dawned on me: I'm not like anybody else. I'm completely different, I'm unique, and that's totally fine. In fact, I couldn't write another word until I accepted the fact that I'm not supposed to do this the same as everybody else. I'm different because it's just who I am. F**k fitting in. Once I accepted myself as an author, Dominic Collazo wouldn't shut up.
Kingpin is my homecoming. It's the realization of who I am and putting it out there as a 'If you don't like me for being me, then f**k you,' kind of message. Kingpin is the beginning of a new, proud, motivated, not-to-be-overlooked-or-fucked-with path. Dominic Collazo kicks ass and doesn't even care enough to take names. He is not a heart throb, or the boy next door. He isn't concerned about being your next book boyfriend. He doesn't give a f**k, and he makes it look oh-so-good.
